(Post Jam Fixes)
Hey ya’ll!
I’m not sure if anyone is still interested in this project, but I’ve released a small update to fix some of the main issues I had with it. You can still find the jam version as a windows download, though the web browser will be the new version.
My main goals were to reduce the run time for new players to beat it, and to make it a more skillful game so others can try reducing their times and death counts.
Changelog
- Added more visual effects and tweaked others to match
- Added damage flash for all living entities
- Tweaked the balance of various enemy spawn rates
- Made the second boss more of a skill based check
- Slowed the death barrier when crossing an incomplete boss room to give players extra breathing time
- Reduced the time for boss room walls to dissolve
- Increased sizes and backgrounds of various texts
- Enemies no longer attack you off screen, but will be triggered by bullets hitting them. This is represented by a purple ‘shield’ that is around them until they are active.
- Added an obscure and suitably annoying to find easter egg related to my online work.
- The final boss now has a somewhat interesting attack in orb form, and is substantially easier to deal with when broken up.
Really, those are the main things. I’m not particularly interested in continuing this project from here as I have much bigger ideas and prototypes in the works. Feel free to follow me here or on YouTube if you want to see what I make in the future.
I would sincerely like to thank all of you who voted and provided feedback on this game. I never expected to make top 50, let alone top 10 and 16th in judge ratings. Thank you all for your support, and I hope I’ll be back with another interesting thing for you soon!
